Durango sits at the southern base of the San Juan Mountains, so we have desert, mountains, a real steam train, Anasazi ruins and attractions to explore within minutes of town.  Not to mention the great whitewater!

Open practice is available on a permanent slalom course in the weeks leading up to the Team Trials.  Please abide by this slalom training site's agreement with the city of Durango:

** The slalom gates may not to be out in the main channel between 8:45 am and 5:15 pm.**

The Animas River is a multiuse river.   Please be respectful of all the river users.  Many of the play waves are in the middle of the race course.  We highly suggest that your workouts happen early or late in the day.  All slalom gates must be raised after every workout.  Again, please be polite and respect everyone’s time on the water and they should respect yours.

Class order for all three days of slalom racing is C-2, K-1, C-1, K1-W
