Please note that if the Potomac River level is forecast to be 6.5 feet or higher on the Little Falls Gauge http://waterdata.usgs.gov/md/nwis/uv/?site_no=01646500 then the Team Trials Qualifier will be moved to the Feeder Canal as the Dickerson course will be inundated.
Please note that all non-card carrying BCE members need to Download a Mirant Waiver in advance and bring it to the gate between 8:00-9:00 AM to gain entry into the Dickerson Whitewater Course. Directions:
On 495 take exit on Clara Barton Parkway heading into Washington DC. Park at Lock House #6 after 4 to 5 miles. Park in designated parking areas only, not on the grass. Walk across the two small walk bridges, turn right on the C&O Canal Tow Path and follow the path down to the Potomac River Feeder Canal put-in.
Additional parking is available in Brookmont in Bethesda. From the Clara Barton Parkway exit at MacArthur Blvd and turn right. Go 2 miles and make the first possible right turn onto Maryland Ave. Turn right onto the first or second street both are named Broad Street. Please drive into the neighborhood with care and obey the no parking signs along the Green. Bathrooms are available in the Brookmont Church. Enter the church through front doors and bathrooms are located at bottom of steps, or enter through the upper side door through the kitchen, and turn to left through double doors. Please be aware of other possible Brookmont Church users. No public undressing please. Walk down to the Feeder Canal by passing the church and turn left onto Valley Road, and carefully walking across the Clara Barton Parkway. Cross the two small walk bridges, turn right on to the C&O Canal Tow Path and follow the path down to the Potomac River Feeder Canal put-in. Walk upstream either along the Feeder Canal or via the C&O Canal tow path to reach the top of the Feeder Canal and Race headquarters.
