The American Slalom Excellence Program is a "whitewater slalom immersion" training camp featuring daily coaching, slalom workouts, off the water presentations, and race day coaching held in concert with the US Whitewater Slalom Team Trials Qualifier in and around San Marcos, Texas from February 14-20, 2005.
Olympians Davey Hearn and Ben Kvanli are excited to share over forty years of whitewater racing expertise with aspiring whitewater paddlers of all ages. This coaching duo lends whitewater canoe and kayak advice from both the water and riverbank. Their outstanding knowledge and enthusiasm for training and racing is conveyed through their coaching styles combined with their sheer love of canoe and kayak paddlesport. The coaches of the American Slalom Excellence Program impart their whitewater racing expertise to future generations of Whitewater Slalom Olympians. The goal of the American Slalom Excellence Program is to empower junior and developing racers with the skills to train wisely on their own, and to encourage positive energy and results from training productively with others. Ben and David work to promote confident working groups of athletes, parents, friends and supporters working together to achieve American Slalom Excellence.
